Energy Saving is now becoming a way of life for us all and a good way to start is to check how much electric you use at the moment. The Eco-Eye Elite will do just that for you by telling you not just how much electric you use but also how much it is costing and the impact on the environment by showing you how much your CO2 emissions are.
As with all wireless electricity monitors the Eco Eye Elite has an electricity detecting device which is clipped onto the mains supply cable where it enters your electricity meter. This is then plugged into a battery powered transmitter which sends data to the battery powered wireless receiver (batteries included) which displays the electricity usage information on its screen.
It is very simple to install and does not need an electrician. We had it up and running within 15 minutes. Eco-Eye even give you a plastic key to open your meter box which we thought was a very nice touch as not everyone has a key. It worked just as well as our previously reviewed product the Efergy Power Meter but what we really liked about this one was that it broke down your costs by hour, day, week, month and even year.
The Eco-Eye Elite can be wall mounted but we liked the fact it has a hinged stand which makes it totally portable (works up to 30m away) and its large display makes it very easy to read. All the packaging is recyclable and the only comment we have is that the instructions could be made a bit simpler by having a basic step by step guide similar to the installation Guide on the website.
Use this and you will soon be changing to energy saving light bulbs and making sure you switch things off when not in use. This really is a very useful gadget and a great gift for someone on their birthday or at Christmas.
