It seems that every year we have more friends and family to add to the list of those for whom we would like to buy gifts at Christmas and/or birthdays. And, whilst it is always lovely to give a present, many of us struggle to think of something the recipient really wants or needs. So next time why not consider eco friendly gifts? Eco friendly gifts cover a wide range of items and often include more unusual items which will also have a more positive impact on the environment.
So what should we consider in terms of eco friendly gifts? Well for the gift itself there are a number of options. Recycled gifts are a good option, either made from recycled materials or recycled in the sense that they are second hand. Remember that it’s the thought that counts, so there’s nothing wrong with buying something, for example, from a charity shop or Ebay, just try and make sure it is in good condition. Alternatively consider buying sustainable products, for example wooden gifts from sustainable wood sources.
There are a wide range of organic products on the market now, so consider some of these for eco friendly gifts, whether it be clothing, food or beauty products. Or what about living products such as trees or plants or those gifts offered by some charities such as Oxfam
