UK Energy Saving is a consumer resource on energy saving and related topics including renewable energy, alternative fuels, recycling and water saving as well as sections on fairtrade and organic products. Set up by environmentally concerned individuals, it is the intention of the founders that UK Energy Saving provides consumers with the information they need when researching energy saving and green living. This involves making the site itself as comprehensive and up to date as possible, as well as including links to other related sites for more details on specific topics.
The main UK Energy Saving site was launched in 2006 with a Blog following in early 2007 giving visitors the opportunity to pass on their thoughts and comments. One of the unique areas of UK Energy Saving is the Energy Saving Calculator which gives at-a-glance information on how to make energy savings around the home. With cost and savings information, this has been designed to be a quick-look tool for site visitors.
In April 2007 UK Energy Saving launched their Energy Switch Utilities Marketplace where visitors can save money by searching for a competitive gas and electricity deal. During 2008 a new Ethical Living Section of the site was built up and June 2008 saw the launch of the Green Product Reviews section. This offers visitors the chance to see impartial views on a number of green products before trying for themselves. In 2009 UK Energy Saving partnered up with renewable energy suppliers in the UK in order to allow their visitors to further their enquiries into these areas.
