Ndali is an estate in Western Uganda where this Fairtrade vanilla is grown and processed. It claims to be high in vanillin and is available in packs containing two vanilla pods.
Vanilla pods can be used in a variety of recipes and I gave this product a try in a rice pudding. As promised, the beans produce a delicious, intense flavour, and of course these pods are Fairtrade certified.
A pack of two pods costs just under £5 which is more expensive than regular products, but which compares well with other Fairtrade varieties. The cardboard element of the packaging could be recycled but the plastic parts may be trickier depending on your location.
