Make a Change 2011

Make a Change 2011 offered energy saving and ethical living suggestions to our visitors throughout the year. Each month two suggestions were promoted and we hope that some of our visitors have indeed been able to Make a Change for their own and the world’s benefit. In case you missed it, or if you’d simply like a summary, we’ve listed the suggestions below.

JANUARY

• Buy energy saving light bulbs
• Visit a local produce or farmers’ market

FEBRUARY

• Insulate your home
• Switch your household & cosmetic purchases to products not tested on animals

MARCH

• Install a water butt in your garden
• Buy something Fairtrade

APRIL

• Grow organic vegetables in your garden
• Book an eco summer holiday in the UK

MAY

• Switch your electricity supply to a green tariff
• Approach your school/church/council/employer about supporting Fairtrade

JUNE

• Install a water saving device in your toilets
• Reduce, reuse, recycle

JULY

• Consider renewable heat for your home
• Buy fish from an MCS source

AUGUST

• Buy a reusable shopping bag
• Join a local volunteers group

SEPTEMBER

• Buy something organic
• Buy something which is FSC certified
