If you have a new mobile phone and your old model is at the bottom of a drawer, have you thought about mobile resale as a way of getting some money for your phone? This is an easy way of making some money and there a number of mobile resale sites popping up which can offer pretty good deals.
Mobile resale is exactly what it says; you selling your phone on after you have finished with it. You could do this independently via sites such as Ebay Ebay or by selling it to someone you know. But the hassle-free way is often to use a mobile resale company who will give you a fair price for a relatively up to date model in good condition. The phones they buy are then often sold into developing countries where they are in high demand due to the high prices of new phones. Those which cannot be sold on are recycled.
Some mobile resale sites give some of the money to charity, but if you want to donate it would be better to sell the phone for the best price and then donate some or all of the cash yourself as the charity will then be able to claim tax back too.
Some mobile resale sites will also pay a reduced price for damaged phones so it is worth checking whether you could get something. And if not, it is still worth recycling your phone for environmental reasons.
