Sustainable living covers all aspects of our modern lives, and is something which we should all aim for. The planet cannot continue to support the current rate of our use of natural resources or the effects of mankind on biodiversity and the climate. Sustainable living is therefore a necessity in order not to further increase the damage we have been and are doing to the Earth.
UK Energy Saving covers many aspects of sustainable living, from saving energy and water to using renewable energy and buying organic products. In addition we have put together a number of pages focussing specifically on different aspects of sustainable living as listed below.
Sustainable living does not have to mean turning your back on modern life, returning to living in wood huts with no water or electricity and being totally self sufficient, but is about respecting the fact that the Earth does not have unlimited resources and that our actions effect the planet, often in a negative way. We must therefore value what we have and try to make sure that future generations will still be able to enjoy life on this planet. Everyday tasks such as recycling and reducing car use can make a real difference, but everyone needs to do more to reduce our reliance on natural resources and curb climate change
