The People & Planet Green League iPhone App

The People & Planet Green League iPhone App provides details of the Green League 2011 which ranks UK universities on their environmental and ethical performance. The ranking system is a great way to see how universities are performing in areas such as environmental policy, ethical investment, carbon management, waste & recycling and water reduction, and the iPhone App gives you this information on the go. I am not sure how many people would need this in reality but it is a snappy little App as detailed below.

This App has the complete list of universities in either alphabetical or rank order, allowing you to easily find a university of interest. You can then click on the individual university for a quick look at their score and last year’s ranking as well as more detail on how they scored in each individual area. You can also select a number of universities of your choice and compare them to each other in terms of the 13 categories. More detail on these categories is given in the Methodology section and the About section gives some background on the People & Planet Green League.

All in all this is a very simple and intuitive App to use and the league table is an interesting read. The App is free to download and is to be recommended for those interested in how universities perform in environmental and ethical terms.
