Easy-Logs from The Briquette Company

The Easy-Logs from The Briquette Company are offered as an alternative to logs for wood burning stoves, fires, chimeneas and fire pits. They are made from 100% wood chippings and are cylindrical in shape with an 80mm diameter and about 100mm-120mm in length.

The Easy-Log briquettes come in a 10kg bag and we also received a bag of kindling. The advice for using this product is basically to use the same method for getting the fire going as for logs, although a little less kindling may be needed. The kindling provided was dry and a good size, and we found the Easy-Logs very easy to use. We popped them on the stove (filling it about a quarter full as recommended) once the kindling got going and they lit easily. You could see them expanding and we refrained from poking them as per the advice!

As well as being easy to light and quick to get going, we also liked how the Easy-Logs behaved. They produced a good flame and lasted at least as long as a similar quantity of wood.

The Easy-Logs are priced at £4 for a 10kg bag (collection only) for smaller quantities but this price reduces for larger deliveries, even when allowing for delivery charges. This price compares well with similar products on the market. The packaging is simply a sealed plastic bag with carry handle, which contains full instructions for use. In terms of the company ethos, The Briquette Company also strives to offer an environmentally service, aiming to use biodiesel in its vans and sourcing electricity from Ecotricity.
